What to look for in factory zoning and material flow
A factory layout is useful when it explains how materials, product and people move through controlled steps. Start with the flow and the records behind it.

Map the route through the facility
The source factory describes separate areas for pouch filling and sealing, packaging, incoming-material quarantine and quality review. Ask the team to walk through the route in sequence. Identify where material status changes and where the lot record follows the product. A zone name is only meaningful when the work and controls performed there are clear.
Ask about segregation and changeovers
Different formulas and packaging components create practical segregation questions. Discuss how the facility identifies materials on the line, manages changeovers and checks that the correct instructions and components are present. The controls should fit the actual project. Do not assume that a general “cleanroom” label answers every question about cross-contact or mix-ups.
Review the quality handoffs
Quarantine, in-process checks and finished-goods release each involve a handoff. Ask who makes the decision, where it is documented and what happens if a check does not meet the specification. This is especially useful when an outsourced test or a customer approval is part of the release plan. Clear status control prevents an unfinished review from being mistaken for a release.
Use a video review with a written agenda
A video walk-through works best when the buyer sends focused questions in advance. Request the areas relevant to your product, a description of the flow and examples of non-confidential records. Avoid asking for proprietary documents from another customer. Follow the visit with a list of open questions, responsible owners and the evidence needed to close them.
Questions buyers ask
Does a factory photograph prove a specific cleanroom classification?
No. A photograph shows the environment and equipment visible in it. Any required classification or audit standard needs appropriate supporting records.
How should I prepare for a factory video review?
Send a short agenda covering material receipt, relevant production steps, packaging, quality handoffs and the records needed for your procurement review.
